I have a 2007 Silverado Classic 1500 4.8L, replaced the injectors and #8 is leaking from the rail side. Removed and reseated. Still leaking. Should I just replace the rail or is there another way to stop the leak?
Have you done a close visual inspection of the injector, O-ring, and Rail cup? I would think that you should be able to see a defect that would allow leakage...a torn o-ring?, a scratched/bent cup?, a cracked injector?
My aging eyes aren't what they used to be so I, sometimes, use an inspection camera for things like this.
"Knowledge is a weapon. Arm yourself, well, before going to do battle."
"Understanding a question is half an answer." I have learned more by being wrong, than I have by being right.
My first thought is rolled o-ring. I still do it from time to time.o. Injectors and end up with a leak. A little smear of oil to lube the injector o-ring usually prevents this.
Yes. That is exactly what I did. The injectors were new so it kind of threw me. So I pulled them out again change the O rings on the leaking one, a little oil and that fixed the leak. Thanks.
