Are you sure that the coil is OEM? Can you get the shop to return it and get a new one?

I put the OEM coil back on and it started. I wiggled each wire, connector, and harness under the hood, around the ECM, and even the wiring under the dash to see if I could get it to shut down. No luck.
So with this outcome, I ordered a new coil connector. This is the only thing that makes sense.
This same thing happened with the previous coil removal and installations.

I just completed a 10 mile test drive and the Subaru never skipped a beat. I still plan to replace the connector.
Once I replace it I will tear the old one apart and inspect the sockets.

I sprayed ACF-50 on the connector and let it sit for 10 minutes, then rinsed it with contact cleaner.

I performed an autopsy on the old connector. Being the no start and not a misfire, the power and ground was what I removed and splayed open . As you can see in the picture, the black ground connection was good, but check out the yellow power. Looks like burn marks on the top and bottom contact surface.
I feel confident that this was the culprit.
I will run errands today and will keep you posted.
I want to thank you for your help. It is always better with more heads involved.
Tom
