P0459 Evap Purge Control High - 09 Enclave was created by Bsabbathfan66
Hey everyone,

Wife's 2009 Buick Enclave 3.6L has a P0459- EVAP Emission System Purge Control Valve Circuit High.

Already changed purge valve a couple months ago when it was having a hard time starting after fueling up. Wires dont seem to be chafed or broken to the purge solenoid. Can't seem to find a pinout to check for continuity/shorts between the purge valve and PCM... anyone have any ideas or experience with this code? Thanks!

I would ohm the new valve to see if it is good. It may just be a bad valve.

Assuming is never a good thing.

If I am remembering correctly, I think the white wire is known to break in the insulation not far from the tank.
The fuse that feeds the vent control solenoid is hot at all times, so there should always be battery voltage on the red wire, and if the vent valve is plugged in and not commanded on, the power should also be present on the white wire all the way back to the computer waiting to be switched to ground.
If the fuse is good and power is making it to the red wire, I would pull on the white wire under the car in a few spots and see if it breaks.
