OK to run on 5 cylinders? was created by ksat22
I think my engine just popped off a rocker arm. 3.7 Jeep. Would I cause harm to anything if I disconnected power to the fuel injector and COP on that cylinder and ran on 5 cylinders to get it home (10 miles or so) so I can work on it?

If the roller seized, then it may eat the corresponding camshaft lobe resulting in the need to replace the camshaft as well.
That said, I would roll the dice on my own car drive it home or to the shop.

Thanks for the reply. I noticed some clanging noises after my post so decided to work on it in the parking lot instead. No damage was in there, thankfully.
