Leaking steering rack! Please help was created by Halwest
Hello everyone, i need help please ,
i have a nissan pathfinder 2006 4.0L V6 4WD
My steering rack at the high pressure line connects with the steering rack is leaking , knowing that the line is tight all the way in and not lose or cross threaded. I will provide a photo, please what other solution  i can do to fix this nightmare ,a little bit history on the car is  the high pressure line was leaking on the hose side and that position in the photo , so i replaced the high pressure line hoping to fix both leaking area but the leaking on the rack still happening and its tight all the way in , can it be removed and put some like teflon or thread seal or any thing to fix the leaking ??! Its very annoying

The pressure line at the rack is sealed by an O-ring at the end of the line itself:

Did that O-ring get replaced during repairs? Is it in good condition? If in doubt, I'd suggest replacing the O-ring and rechecking for leaks. The O-ring part number is 49745-01E00.

The threads of that line fitting aren't designed to seal anything, so adding tape or sealant won't help.
