1992 Ford F150 will not start. was created by dezman007
Hello there,
Truck ran strong 3 weeks ago when used. This time it only started twice, once after several turns of the key. Then the next morning fired right up once. Nothing since. Strong, smell of gas when trying to start. Troubleshooting results are no gas leaks present, no gas coming from gas regulator, IAC sensor has 7 ohms. Fuel pump changed 1 year ago. Going to purchase code scanner in near future. Any thoughts on this issue. Thanks David

Have you checked for spark?

I knew I forgot some info, Yes spark is strong. This truck has a history of fuel issue it seems. It's strange the other morning it kicked right over. It's a simple fix, just have to find it.

I've installed a permanent fuel pressure gauge awhile back. I'm getting a constant 40 psi, correction the IAC sensor is measuring at 9 ohms.

the fact that you smell fuel leads me to think that you could have a leaking injector. Check the static fuel pressure to see if it holds pressure without dropping down.

As stated in previous comments no leaks present, psi is a constant 40 psi. The ECM is at a place of business being tested and repaired. There are indications that capacitors have leaked.
