Will it fry the anti theft module if i bypass it with a resistor that stays connected all the time?
Got stranded on the highway, pulled the white wire connectors going to the module and installed
a resistor in between the two wires, car starts and drives, so the fault was in the steering column, only concerned
now if this could damage the module if i leave the resistor in, (actually used the pellet from a spare key).

That will not harm anything. There are quite a few bypass "kits" available for these older generation anti theft systems that do just that.

I will caution that the anti theft system will not disable the car once it it running, so if you got stuck on the highway (I can't imagine you shut it off on the highway and tried to restart on purpose), then there may be something else at play....

Well, I did have to shut the car down. Highway was closed down due to an accident for an hour. Upon restart it refused to do so. In the past it had helped to pull the anti theft fuse and after a minute or so the car would have started again. It did not. Scanner came back with a DT46 code. Going through the internet i found the resistor bypass. Used the pellet from a spare key instead and it started right up. Security light ist still on solid, which I assume will go away after 50 cycles(?). My only concern is that when going through the internet some claimed it woudl fry the module. Made no sense to me. But better ask and be safe than sorry.
