Hi,

Currently helping a mate with a problem on a Volvo XC70 Diesel from 2008.
The problem is that on pin B16 at the ECU, the 5V is not stable (4-5V) and on pins A21 and 40 at the ECU, the 12V is in the range of 7-10V.

The swirlflaps are going insane, and the shutoff valve is doing strange things as well.
Somebody seen this before, and has a clue?

Voltage drop to the ECU?! What about battery voltage with engine running?

Checked everything. Motor running or not. Supply to the ECU is rock solid, and there is no voltage drop on the ground. Pin B16 is still wrong, but pin A21 and 40 are a ground switched control signal as we know now.

We are thinking the computer is bad.

We found the problem. There was another sensor on the 5V line, the combined oil level / temperature sensor, which was pulling down the 5V line.
