I bought the car in june of this year and it started but was in limp mode prev owner said its only the tb that needs replaced. He was right about that but timing chain was loose so I replaced tc and all the things that go with that vvt sprocket etc. After the tb and tc were repaired I was able to drive the car more than a few feet. As soon I statrted putting a little throttle into right around 2200 to 3000 rpms blinking cel pops. So ive been trying to find the cause and have had no luck. Dont have any prior exp working on cars this would be my first. Here is a list of all parts ive wasted money on trying to fix it. Ckp sensor, cmp, maf, map, 3 sets of spark plugs, turbo, coil packs, pcv, prv, o2 sensor, boost pressure sensor, oil pressure vvt thing, motor mounts right and left, throttlebody and all the parts i installed connectors also. I just did a boost leak test and found a big ol leak at egr pipe where it connect to the intake mani I must have cross threaded last time i took apart. Probobaly tmi my bad. Boost leaks test, compression test amd spark test i did yesterday and passed. 165 on 4 cylinders. Car starts right up drops down idle rpm after couple minutes motor sounds good no missing st idle. When driving as long as I keep the rpms low enough so the turbo won't engage i can drive cel free but as soon as I give a little throttle its like the car freezes up and dtc appears. If I keep throttle.down it will go fast but it very sloppy. Oh yeah I was told its my pcm so I ordered one from fagship one and they took 3 weeks to send it and it wasn't even the right pcm it was for a 05 or something wouldnt connect to any scanner. Still ended paying the locksmith to change keys for no reason. I dont have a scope to test voltage from pcm to ignit coil. Is there any other way to test without scope? Any help will be appreciated.
Did you use the correct timing alignment tools when doing the timing chain? If this is like the four cylinder Ford/Mazda engines I've worked on, there a few different length crankshaft locking pins available from what I recall.
Also, the crankshaft pulley must be aligned perfectly (with a new bolt and washer, torqued to spec) considering there is no key way to ensure the crank pulley is installed in the correct position.
The crankshaft sensor itself is adjustable on some of them.
Service information will be absolutely critical to ensure everything is set up correctly
