Diesel fuel pump regulator testing [FIXED] was created by Matt
Hi
Car: 2003, Fiat ducato, 2.8l, diesel, 94kw
Problem: no power, dtc: p1671, p0191 (both: fuel pressure Regulator)
I don't have full wiring for engine, only info about pressure regulator that it is 2-terminal pwm controlled solenoid.
My scanner can activate this regulator, when i did it, no sound or klick noticeable with finger touching the solenoid. Testlight will light up normally when connected into unpluged connector and output activated (1sec on, 1 sec off). I don't have scope today but seems like it wasn't pwm test signal.
I took it off the engine and feeded 12v through testlight and then directly 12v both polarities- there was no moving of the pin or any sound. Coil resistance 2,2 ohm.
Is this test conclusive that pressure regulator is faulty?

Doesn't sound good for it! I would be interested to see what amperage was but it probably doesn't matter if your pin isn't moving that's a problem!

Thanks for replay. Already did put in new pressure regulator solenoid... car is fixed. Tho...interestingly there was also no clicking or moving with the new solenoid. I tried to energize coil through incandescent testlight, maybe it wasnt enough voltage then.

I was thinking about that the light probably wouldn't let enough amperage through to activate the solenoid anyways. Glad it's fixed though!
