Not a question, but may have a question tomorrow. Lol

Trying to help a guy at work, but didn't get to spend much time on it. 2004 Envoy fuel tank pressure sensor issue. Stuck at 1.50 volts. He put a new sensor in and it shows 2.73 volts on the scandata. I spent a few minutes trying to help him and with the old sensor plugged in and volt meter on the signal wire shows .220 volts, but scandata showed 1.51volts. New sensor volt meter shows 1.44 volts but scandata shows 2.73 volts. Sensor unplugged scandata shows 1.29 volts, but volt meter shows 5 volts on the signal wire. 1.29v + 1.44v = 2.73v. 0.22v + 1.29v = 1.51v. Weird problem, think I'll suggest a different scantool first then check wire integrity. I'll reply tomorrow to let yall know what we find.

Subscribing for later, 'cause I got nothing. Unless the scope/DMM ground is poor?

This was a weird one. After checking, double checking and triple checking with different meters and 3 different scantools we called the pcm. Then we decided to clear the code out and everything started working right.

Unexpected.
Glad it's back to normal though!
Do you think it could have been ignoring the signal and substituting a value because it already determined there was an issue?

Weird. I like what Noah is thinking about a substituted value but... Why would it bother?

I was gonna suggest a soft reset, but I guess that would have accomplished the same thing.
