Mitsubishi montero 1998 v6 excessive idle was created by Junior 1994
I am diesel mechanic by profession however  I am having some problems with my " bat mobile" aka montero 1998 work van. I replaced the manual transmission, reconnect every thing and tried starting the vehicle.

After starting the vehicle I noticed the rpm will climb to 2500 at idle, there was no codes present in the initial stage however, when I unplugged the MAF sensor the rmp suddenly drops to 800 ish. I tested power, ground, 5v reference and signal at the maf plug. Base on the readings I received I went ahead a change the sensor, new sensor installed SAME PROBLEM. Additionally If I place my hand against the throttle body I will shut off

Additionally information

The following was observed with the use off my scan tool.

(1) IAT: 41  with the key on
(2) MAF : 0 g/s with the key on but increase will the engine is running
(3) o2 sensors: 0.8v ( sensor 1) 0.4v to 0.6v  ( sensor 2) with the key on
(4) Tps: shows 3% with key on and while engine is running . It will increase when the throttle is depressed.

In addition,  the iac valve is extremely hot when the key is turned on

I will be extremely grateful for your assistance and response
