1992 ford f150 5.0 5sp new battery and cables new alt starter disturbtior module key switch ing switch on stering coulm and the fuel line gets hot by the fuel pressure regulator

Start simple. With the key in crank, measure voltage at all four posts of the starter solenoid (in the engine bay, not at the starter motor itself). Three should read 12V, one should read zero. Or, if your solenoid only has three posts, all three should read 12V.

What are your readings?
