Ok this is an drive by cable with an idle motor and encoder and it sounds like it may need an adaptation done as long as you have no vacuum leaks you can try the chicken dance (as it is called on the internet) I gave steps towards the end of this post on how to do it
www.scannerdanner.com/forum/post-your-re...el-but-no-start.html

I've personally never tried it. I use a ross tech vag com and I have performed plenty of adaptations for people who have tried this method and it did not work for them so no gurantees

What's the short and long fuel trim numbers at idle? And what at 3000rpm ? It could be a vacuum leak. This ones you just touch them end thay fall apart. .
