2014 ford flex was created by jsjj4x4
My Boss offered to buy me a 2014 ford flex for 8500.00 and it's really clean and drives like a dream .
I would love to go for it. BUT there is something nagging me in the back ground of my head . The flex is
sporting 189,000 miles on it . If I'm not mistaking isn't that mileage just about near death? Well maybe
not like that but my trailblazer to spite all it's issues has about 200,000 miles on it and it's a 2002 . My sisters 2003 corolla
has 143,000 on it and that's a difference of +/- 12 yrs . I put my finger in the tailpipes and they were clean.
I don't know if the tailpipe thing is factual or not lol. Please tell me what your ideas are or opinions, advice?
Oh and plus it's out of state and having to register it in calif. You all on scanner danners forum have always been
so awesomely patient and helpful and "right" on your guidance thru my trailblazers issues I totally value and trust what
you have to say. Ok enuff kissing that butt . Let me hear your words!!! Thanks ahead of time.

I don't have a personal opinion on this particular vehicle but here's this video that might help.

I like Fords, I like the Flex. They're not always showing up on tow trucks, which is a plus in my book. I also like the Duratec engine family, it's tried and true. I think the latitudinal mount 3.5 has the shitty water pump that leaks into the oil when it fails, but I'm not aware of many more engine problems (unlike Fords 3 valve modular v8 motors that I wouldn't even consider owning).
The livery only Lincoln MK-T is the successor to that model and built on very similar architecture, I have contacts who run airport and limousine service with them, and they routinely surpass 300,000 miles with the non-turbocharged 3.5/3.7l v6.
If it's not a rot box and the previous owner didn't trash it, it's probably a fine car.
