Have a short 5v ref. the module wants to see less then 4.9v checked at module has 5.04v. My question is other then a fault in with the regulator could there be another alternative that would cause the voltage to rise. I did check for voltage with module unpluged.

Year, make, model, codes, manual/auto HVAC, description of the issue you are trying to solve...

Really !!! That is a new one on me !!

What is the source telling you that 4.9 v is the max it will accept ?

I could be wrong but I would assume 5.04v as perfectly acceptable in this instance.

yes i would also think it was acceptable.. that spec came from the ford manual
