Hello, I'm am working on a 04 Susuki Aerio with a rough idle, misfire under acceleration, i have already eliminated head gasket as a cause, it passed all the test on the engine itself. The problem and main suspect is the MAF sensor or it's circuit/PCM, here's why: the unplug it test seems to resolve the issue, my maf sensor is a 5 wire with 2 being off the IAT, i checked the 12v feed, the ground is good (22mv) and the signal wire KOEO is at .831mv and 1.7-4.6v KOER well within the range that the manual states, good right? But if i disconnect the MAF connector and probe the signal wire it goes to 0.7v and the manual states that there should be near 5v in the MAF connector KOEO , if no voltage is found, suspect open wire, short to ground or bad pcm...i already checked the circuit integrity and no short to ground on the signal wire, PCM powers and grounds are good and also backprobed the MAF terminal on the PCM and same result 0.7v...other sensors are working as they should.Am i misidentifying the circuit design? Can the manual be wrong? Or do i have a bad PCM?

Testing with it unplugged will throw you - It is just the wrong way to test that / any component with electronics.

If the manual says you should have 5v then I would go hunting for that, confirming that another 5v referenced sensor is not pulling it down.

There is a SD You tube Video on that some where

I already confirmed that the manual indeed was wrong, that 0.7v is actually a bias voltage, the prodemand manual states that there needed to be 5v on the signal wire while unplugged KOEO, but the suzuki service manual says otherwise. I don't know why or how but they misidentified the circuit design on the prodemand manual, a big no no for people who rely too much on these manuals.

I would not place to much emphasis on all that !!

All Plugged in - Just make sure you have all the Powers (12 & 5v) and Grounds that you should have.

Now concentrate on the Signal Voltage - it will either be right, wrong or thereabouts.
