Hi folks,
f
first time to this forum. Seems like a great place to ask some questions, don't know if there are some sharing folks?:-) I have a 2000 Ford Expedition that I recently replaced the passenger side head gasket on.
Everything went fine, started up the first time. Ran it to operating temp once, and then was going to do twice to flush the radiator. During the second run, it chugged down to a halt. Swore I heard a click or something?
anyway, not locked, starter is fine, but will not start. If it does start for a few seconds, it dies. Checked all of the fuses in junction box, etc. First code I received was P360.
ran test on sensor, it was fine, but could use a new harness. checked it again, and numbers were good. tried to start, no luck. received a host of new coedes
IC B1318
RCM B1318
P1874
B1843
P0500
C1107
B1676....I chedked battery, it is at 12.6 volts, did a drop test on cables, they are ok. No P360 code..I am thinking I have a missed ground somewhere..any ideas? thanks....any help is appreciated...

yes, that would help...so the codes are:
B1318 - battery voltage low - says air suspension - this does not have air suspension
B1676 - battery voltage low - related to ABS module
B1483 - brake pedal input circuit failure
P0500 - vehicle speed sensor malfunction
C1107 - ABS function enabled input circuit failure
so..it seems that I have an issue with my ABS pump circuit? it sounds as if this is common for this year ford.
In fact, when Key is on, I can hear the pump clicking.....have not tested it to see if it does that with battery connected? it probably does, as my battery has a drain on it...
any ideas on how to approach this? thank you for your replay

I don't know that I'd sweat any of those codes right now. Your 'P360', is that P0360? Because that'd be an ignition coil fault for cylinder #10... Which your Expedition doesn't have. The ABS by itself won't cause a no start.

I'd say go back to basics. Check for spark out of one of the coils, and check for injector pulse at one of the injectors. An incandescent test light would be best. Check power feeds to both while you're there.

Will the engine fire up if you spray alternate fuel into the intake?

yes, thanks for you reply. I am the middle of checking the fuel pump regulator, to make sure voltage, continuity is ok.
that is my next step, check injectors and coils to make sure we have power..

The codes do not make a lot of sense as far as one system problem which would prevent a no start like a pinched harness which is usually not intermittent. But, the types and loads would seem to point to a loose bulk head connector (or large in-line connector somewhere) that routes several different functions. When the repair was completed if a connector is not completely seated and it is stressed by the engine rotating through torque or vibration the connector can come loose enough to separate circuits but not enough to come apart completely.
