02 honda civic ex manual transmission p0141 o2 heater problem
i have a 02 civic with an rear o2 heater problem that has my head scratching. I replaced the o2 sensor twice and still code comes back immediately after clearing , and yes i did shoot the parts canon. So now i went and looked up a wiring diagram and went on to test the rear o2 heater circuit i got power but no ground. i saw on the wiring diagram the ground is controlled by the pcm , so. i went directly to the pcm and sure enough no ground was coming out. I thought i was done there and was about to order the pcm but my curiosity got to me and asked myself what if i jumper the heater control from the front o2 to the rear o2 and if code goes away i call a bad pcm. So i did and to no prevail the code is still coming back immediately after erasing which leads me to here, I need help on finding out the problem. The wire from the pcm to o2 is good cause i disconnected both ends and checked for continuity which it did have. Any help would be greatly appreciated
If i am reading your post correctly, it sounds like the driver for the heater internal to the PCM is bad. That used to be a very common failure on the generation Civic with the PCM behind the glovebox.
You can jump anything you want to that circuit, if the PCM has internal damage, it's never going to see it.
I think you made the correct call, but maybe muddied the water, so to speak, with that final test.
"Ground cannot be checked with a 10mm socket"
