One piece driveline vs. two piece driveline.

I am working on a 2015 Ram 3500 that spit the driveline out of it. I was also contacted by someone with it 2012 Ram 3500 that lost his center support bearing. Does anyone know the rhyme or reason to when they put the two piece driveline in verses the one piece aluminum one? Would there be any issue with swapping them over to the one piece and eliminating the center support bearing? I've had a lot of issues with center support bearings. Even Spicer has had some runs with bad bearings. By the time I have a driveline rebuilt, trued and balanced I've got probably three quarters of the price of a new driveline.
