P0171 Lean code 2.0 turbo was created by Stein8603
2014 Ford Escape 2.0 turbo is setting a p0171 STFT 11% LTFT 29% No visible vacuum leaks. Did a relative injector flow test (#1-140,#2-141,#3-141,#4-130) replace injectors #4. New STFT 2% LTFT 21%. After 300 miles P0171 set again. STFT 10% LTFT 29% Low pressure fuel 60-70 psi high pressure 260-270psi at idle.

Just a few things from scan data;

1. Do the trims improve as the engine is brake torqued in reverse with increasing throttle angle?

2. What are the O2 voltages doing? Will B1S1 switch lean/rich? If not what happens when you introduce an alternate fuel (ie: Propane)? Will B1S1 start switching Lean/Rich?. Try and drive B1S1 to go RICH.

3. What is the B1S2 the downstream doing this whole time? Is it pegged lean or rich?

4. From the scan tool is the actual high pressure the same as the desired pressure?

Also, if you still have it, this code sets with Freeze Frame Data, can you post the Freeze Frame?

1. In reverse trims move a little but stay lean.

2. O2’s are working, propane will send trims negative.

3. Rear O2 trim is sitting at a -1.1 and will move with throttle change but not change drastically

4. Fuel pressures are good

Injectors were done on this car with an upstream O2. The trims were ST 2% LT 20% for 300 miles. Now the light sets within 10min without even driving ST10% LT 29%

Pinch off the pcv system, Isolate it from the intake, re-smoke the tailpipe.

Crankcase smoke disappear?

Here are some new details

1 if I remove oil cap while running air pressure is coming out (engine all put together)
2 Isolate pcv smoke still comes out of oil cap.
3 removed intake to visually see intake valves, smoke still only coming from oil cap.
4 removed spark plugs cylinder 3 is on exhaust stroke, hooked smoke machine to oil cap and smoke coming from cylinder 3 with plug removed.

Plugs have 350 miles on them and still look brand new. Could ring blow by cause enough to set a lean condition.

Bring #3 to TDC both valves closed and smoke your oil cap, smoke out the plug hole and its the rings.

It may have been coincidence 3 exhaust was open when you smoked the tailpipe.

But when you smoked the pipe if smoke made it past the compressor seal it coud have travelled to the crankcase via the oil tube.
