Im working on a 2001 Nissan xterra 3.3l v6 and I can't access the global data with my scanner. It only let's me connect to the Nissan data. This is the first time I encountered this on a Nissan and I can't find any info on this. I'm using a Zurich scanner. Could it be the pcm? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you
OEM diagnostics and OBD-II are on different networks which is common for pre CAN datsuns. OE is SCI on pins 12 & 13 of the DLC. OBD uses K-line on pin 7. First thing try another scan tool or code reader. The problem might be your tool. Also if the vehicle wasn't built for the North American market it might not have OBD-II. I've attached DLC wiring diagram in case you need it.
