This a theoretical question: To retrieve DLC codes for Transfer Case I know to Ground DLC Pin 13 which causes selector switch to flash codes. However everything I can find just states to connect pin 13 to reliable vehicle ground. I'm curious as why none state to Ground 13 to 4? Is their a reason this shouldn't be done? Or, is this a really dumb question?

DLC pin 4 will work just fine, as long as it is a good ground. Pin 5 should work, too.
