I have a 1999 Ford f350 V10 with 11 volts coming out of cluster on coolant sensor wire I unplug cluster it goes away I've tried 3 new clusters and get the same thing any ideas thanks

No offense meant, but are you sure the 11V coming from the cluster isn't part of normal operation? :huh:

If you short the two coolant temperature sender wires together, does the coolant gauge read full hot? With the sender unplugged, does the gauge read full cold?

Yes the gague works this wire goes to the coolant sensor its supposed to have 5 volts on it I traced it down it was a po118 code so I had 11 volts coming out of cluster coolant sensor wire

P0118? :huh: Pretty sure on this engine that P0118 pertains to the Cylinder Head Temperature sensor, not the coolant temperature sender.

Which sensor are you testing? The coolant temperature sender lives in the intake coolant crossover tube. Red/white and yellow/red wires.



The Cylinder Head Temperature sensor lives in the left cylinder head, in the engine valley. Grey/red and yellow/light green wires.



The CHT sensor absolutely should have 5V on the signal wire with the sensor disconnected. The temp sender will have 11 volts as it's not an engine sensor, but a gauge driver.

The truck still shutsdown with codes po117 po118 coolant sensor high voltage coolant sensor low voltage any ideas replaced coolant sensor with oem and wires are perfect and tried 2 pcms thanks

What did you do to know for sure the wires are good? What tests did you try or do? All I see is parts replaced :(

I put a wire between the 2 wires on coolant sensor and it pegged to hot and tested sensor itself and was good oem replaced

I found out that my 1999 Ford f350 V10 is supposed to have 11 volts at coolant sensor so anybody have any ideas I'm getting 2 codes at the same time po118 po117 replaced coolant sensor with oem and redid wiring to pcm and ground and tried 2 pcms truck starts fine until it warms up then stalls then when you restart it it runs rich
