I have a 2002 Mazda mpv that lost power to the interior fuse panel and will not start. Have been having a key issue with it before where you would turn the key and it would not start but if you keep turning it then it would eventually start. The day that the major issue happened was when my wife was driving it and was having a problem starting it she got it finally running by jumping it . After she got it to me she turned it off and I tried to start again and would not. The problem I'm having is finding out why there's no power in the interior panel. I've checked out fuses, relays, and connections but can't find the problem. I am very poor and have no money to throw parts at it or take it to a shop. I'm in abbotsford British Columbia Canada and was very impressed by you and your videos. Any help you could give me would greatly be appreciated. Thanks. Randy Newman.

Let's verify with a test lamp, incandescent type to ground, that the lamp lights up in the main fuse panel at A, B, and C.

A and B are the only power feeds to the ignition switch.

Fuse C feeds the interior fuse box powering all those fuses.

The Ignition switch has 3 power feed outputs, D, E, and F are power feeds for the interior fuse panel as well. There is one more output for starting/charging and engine controls.

So if you test the for power at the ignition switch outputs, D, E and F in the fuse box and they all don't have power, the ignition switch is the likely root cause.

From point C following the white/red check all of those fuses, I'm thinking they probably have power.

If you decide to remove the column covers you can test all the feeds and outputs at the ignition switch, keep in mind key position for power to flow.

Thanks very much. This is very helpful. The van is now running. I found I had a bad connection. I cleaned it, copper sheild it, and now it starts every time. Your schematic was so valuable to me and I will be using it from now on. Thank you once again. Randy Newman
