Hi, all

I would like to see if anyone might be able to help me out with this van. I am so stumped. The other day driving to work I stopped at a red light and van shut off without warning, nothing before indicated anything was bad. now rewind a bit so everything falls into place.

Back in August I was far away from home and I did not have any tools with me and had broken down in an auto parts so I couldn't diagnose and I threw a coil, ignition module and distributor. it ended up being the crank position sensor. Van ran excellent afterward, the only thing that I did not do, is set the timing using a scan tool because I got busy. The van would slightly ping at overdrive.

So, the day it shut off in my head I thought since the van was pinging that stretched out the timing chain. I went ahead and changed it, nothing tiing marks on the sprockets aligned.....still no start.

I tested at the fuel injection connector with a noid light and all injectors were getting current and were firing.

I changed the spider injection, upper and lower manifold gaskets, and installed another new MPFI system...still no start.

changed the spark plug wires...no start

re timed the engine at tdc compression stroke with distributor at right marks.... no start..

The engine sounds like it wants to start as it speeds up while cranking but doesn't stay running.

From a different issue earlier this year I had changed the ECM and it was flashed with the latest updates along with a new MAF.

The fuel pressure readings I am getting are the following

engine off key on..60psi sometimes 58psi and when the pump shuts off, FP immediately drops to about 53psi

tested fuel pressure while cranking and it falls to about 40 psi but someone said that's from cranking too long.

Now being that I converted to MPFI, what pressures do I need for the engine to start ?

I know the original PSI calls for 60-66psi...someone told me the MPFI needs less psi to work. about the only thing I can think that can be bad is fuel pressure but shouldn't the engine start at least and run rough?

a recap of what was done on this van this whole year due to other issues.

ICM
Distributor/cap/rotor
Coil
Spark plug wires
Timing chain
Mass airflow
Reman.. ECM with latest updates
Crank sensor
New spider MFI injectors(replaced the ones I installed in 2011)
New lower/upper intake gasket
New upper plenum
New exhaust: y-pipe with cat all the way back
Fresh 02 sensors acdelco

About the only thing i need to do is the spark plugs (4years old)

…And “maybe fuel pump”

Engine still wont start.. stumped.
