Mercedes Benz OM 651 engine is using Inductive type 3 pin crank sensor. I don't know about this sensor type. Please can anyone explain how this sensor works.

What do you believe is the issue ?

Just because a connector has 3 pins, doesn't mean it is anything unusual, the 3rd pin could just be continuation of a shielding wire for a regular 2 wire inductive sensor.

From what I can gather in service info, this is a normal Hall effect sensor. I used a '15 Sprinter as an example. From the description and operation:
