Charging system not charging was created by tomt ech#123
Hi, I am working a 2014 Pathfinder with a 3.5-liter engine. Customer complaint is car cut off after driving for about 5 to 10 minutes. Vehicle was worked on by another tech. who replaced alternator but while installing it he damaged the harness connector (F7) (pulled wires from connector) attempted to repair it with new connector but crossed up wires.

Alternator was overcharging (16.28 Vdc) when I first tested system. Removed alternator, had tested, checked good. Repaired connector, re-installed alternator. Alternator charging 14.24 vdc, turned all electrical items to load system, everything worked.

Customer picked up car and the next day he drove to the store about 2 miles from his house and car cut off on him. Was able to get a jump start and make it home. Towed vehicle back to the shop, place battery on charge. Next day started vehicle but alternator not charging, (battery voltage at alternator and voltage dropping).

Following troubling shooting steps for Bat terminal=good, L terminal voltage are a little strange or maybe am not understanding how the system is control. KOEO or KOER only getting 10.32 volts on the combination meter terminal #2 and no signal in the control wire terminal #4 (connector F7).

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
