So I have a ramm 5500 cc 4x4 6.7 Cummins bone stock. I'm going to try and put 3 yrs of bull into a few paragraphs. Long story short I'm getting terrible fuel mileage. Poor engine performance, surging exhaust brake, the list is extensive.
It all started with a corroded tipm, I got home from work and ten mins after I pulled in my driveway it caught fire. I cut battery wires and extinguished flames.
Fast forward a few days I pulled the entire harness out and completely overhauled it. Repaired the bad wires or replaced etc. Soldered and sealed new tipm plugs, new tipm, put together all is good. Truck was running ok but still had some codes. Exhaust pressure p0472. Transmission control system p0560 I believe. So another long story short, it needed a turbo. So new turbo, new pressure sensor tube, new pressure sensor, new egr, new egr cooler,. Dealer checked computers and reflashed everything. Few days ago by truck runs ok but still no exhaust brake, it just surges like crazy. Still no power, well very minimum for what the truck should be like. Transmission blew up a few weeks ago so I thought for sure that may have been the issue all along. I rebuilt tranny and reinstalled it only to find out it still runs like crap. It does the job but it's not good, the coolant temps will get over 235 just driving normally and I have to put it to the floor just to drive anywhere it's as if there's a blockage somewhere causing too much heat in the combustion chamber or not enough boost so it's burning hot. But there are no codes, except for the transmission control system code, and battery system voltage code in the tranny module. I have checked everything I could and three dealers can't remedy this. It's getting to the point now where I'm afraid to ruin a 12k $ tranny again. Or worse, blow the engine up. I need help understanding my live data better, I'm uneducated in the 6.7 field of things. I need to know where my numbers should be from top to bottom. Duty cycles on all my other sensors, or else someone who's willing to go through this WITH ME because it's my daily driver and I cannot be without it. All data is useless for wiring diagrams theyre not correct, neither is Mitchell's. I have subscriptions to both. Even ram can't get the correct pinouts for me. I need a diesel tech that has been around these rams from day one, meaning 07-08 and up 6.7s. batteries are brand new too. All wiring to batteries are new. And checked multiple times, I'm at my wits end and ready to give up but I'm the last line of defense as it is so I don't have a choice. It needs fixed properly. Oh one thing to mention that I find very odd, when I'm driving and the desoot is enabled (active Regen) it runs PERFECTLY. Also doesn't run hot while doing this, But as soon as it's
done it turns into a turd again. And will run hot under acceleration. I'm lost please help.
