Hello, having a weird issue with a bike. It's a 2017 husqvarna 701 supermoto. So bike just stopped running randomly and will not start. Will not turn starter from button and when I bypass button it will crank but not start. I traced it to the ECU not energizing the auxiliary start relay. Started looking at the safety switches and 5V reference circuits. There is a clutch switch, side stand sensor, rollover sensor, and gear position sensor which all are fine. Something is telling ECU to not start. What would cause the ECU to not energize the relay? No engine code is being displayed. Well the bike has to start to display it. It blinks to a certain sequence.

First test voltage regulator for power and ground then test the output circuits. How many wires come out of the regulator? If there is five wires then it should have 3 diodes so you will need to test the diodes in both directions using a multimeter with a diode test function. There are videos on YouTube to show you exactly how to do that test. Then test the starter/ignition relay (mdi).

It's not the charging system. I know how to test battery, stator and rectifier. I'm getting 12V up to the auxiliary start relay which is energized when the ECU pulls the 12V going through the relay coil to ground. ECU thinks something is wrong and not pulling 12v to ground. I got 12 to relay, but not after. I have 12V through the coil, but not pulling to ground when I hit start button. Button tested fine

saludos, tengo una husqvarna 701 2016 y vi que si el gear sensor esta dando problemas la motora no lee que esta en neutro y no arrancara. intenta subiendo el stand + el embrage undido y startea..

I'm sorry I thought I forgot that the whole page is in English ...., greetings, I have a 2016 Husqvarna 701 and I saw that if the gear sensor is giving problems, the engine does not read that it is in neutral and will not start. Try raising the stand + the sunken clutch and start...
