Saturn astra fuel pump or injectors? was created by Timmac
Hello Dan,

I've seen several your videos on YouTube and they are very informative and a lot to help the novice mechanics or the do-it-yourselfers.
I have come across a 2008 Saturn Astra XR 1.8 liter Ecotec engine, 120,000 miles and had multiple codes on it. After doing some diagnostics the following items have been replaced:
Catalytic converter/exhaust manifold
Exhaust flex pipe
Both O2 sensors
pressure regulator
Spark plugs
spark plug boots

Thermostat
Air filter

Things that have been done:
multiple bottles of fuel injectors cleaners, fuel treatments, cleaned the throttle body, checked extensively for vacuum leaks.
Now have come to a final code of P2096 post Catalytist Fuel Trim System Low Limit Bank 1.

And I'm trying to determine if it is the four injectors or if it is a fuel pump asm?
The pressure I get (again as a novice and do it yourselfer)  is about 48psi on initial start and drops down to 44psi, if you hit the accelerator the pressure doesn't increase, if you take the vacuum tube off the pressure regulator it does not increase. I hooked up the pressure gauge and drove it around and the pressure did not move. (when i did this it wet into an Open Loop Fault,  throwing codes P2096, P0300, P0030 & P2276 a series of new codes).
When reading the data on my scanner at the time of the 2096 code, it happens about 40mph, 2200-2600 rpms, Closed Loop, for anywhere from 287 sec to 955 sec to trip code.
I am confused. I don't know which it would be the tank fuel pump assembly or the injectors.

Can you help with a confused Saturn?
