Ask to look at this issue by a neighbour who has three of these vehicles in his family  tearing through these tyres on both edges of the front tyres,  in less than 12,000 miles.   The tyres aren't just wearing the edges are tearing and over heated and cracking on the very edge.   Geometry and tyre pressures as per book.
A bit research revealed this is specifically a problem only  on the Michelin Energy Saver 16" on the alloy wheel  fitment  this vehicle. Exact Michelin replacements are mega expensive  and the problem isn't  reported when cheaper replacement tyres are fitted.

I've become less and less impressed with the quality of Michelin tires over the past 5 years or so.
They seem to dry crack WAY sooner than most tires I see on cars.
