All booked up for our May vacation in it North Italy with every minute detail sorted and paid then six days and Coronavirus hits Italy. The town of Sirmione we go to is in Lombardy but not currently affected but lies exactly halfway between the two main outbreaks in Lombardy and the Veneto so we are watching developments carefully. Thankfully after a few mistakes the Italian authorities seem to be making progress in handling the situation.
Although the main event we go to see the 1000 Miglia classic car rally may not run, and we may not make planned trips to Milan and Brescia currently we are still going as planned although we will re-book for a later date if we have to.
Over the years we have got to know some of the locals and know how much their income dependant tourism. So this is a plug for the small tourist town and some of our favourite businesses in it
