I thought this was kind of neat and wanted to pass it along. A glass cylinder head on a single cylinder L-head Briggs&Stratton engine. It is fascinating watching the flame propagate.

I had to look it up for myself, what a great concept!

Look at the way the exhaust is pulled out of the cylinder as the exhaust valve opens, I always pictured the piston "pushing" it out.

I suspect that the exhaust path is a much lower pressure than the combustion chamber so it in effect does pull the exhaust gasses

Exactly, the pressure outside the combustion chamber is so much lower it's almost a psudo-vacuum.
It was like one of those "ah ha!" moments to see it happen.
