Maybe not the looniest? But Saab 900's. Only let you take the key of out of the ignition with the shifter in reverse.
And the whole mounting the engine backwards thing. :silly: Only car I know where it's easier to replace the clutch, than it is to replace the accessory belts.

The clutch on those real SAABs was really clever --- ISTR 30 minutes to change , ISTR if you valued your fingers you had to take care how you closed the hood/bonnet.
In a similar vein the Citroen CX all the switch gear that was normally on the steering wheel were on two pods either side of the steering wheel like something straight off the Millennium Falcon, I am not exactly a fan of those pre-Peugeot Citreons or French electrical systems but the switch gear was all fitted together like Lego it was so simple and quick to change a switch out,

What else could you expect BMW but luxury, advanced design and extreme penny pinching combined .

How about the plastic gear inside BMW transfer case shift motors?
