What are your thoughts on these services? Do you recommend them to customers? If so, how often and what is your favorite method of chemical delivery?

I do recommend them, but only in very select situations where I think we're fighting carbon buildup on valves or pistons. GDI engines are prime candidates, as long as the service is done carefully. Don't wanna cook turbos/cats, or bend connecting rods. ;)

I've seen results from BG's Air Intake System Cleaner combined with their 'fogger' attachment. Basically, a pressurized can with a misting attachment that you point at the throttle body. Not an intake service, but I've also seen results with MotorVac products. These are the only injector flush systems I consider effective.

Again, it varies on the situation. I'll only recommend it if I think there's a fair chance of noticeable results.

I always recommend using injector cleaner in common rail diesels I have seen it cure surging at idle and low rpm.
