Just something to think about, exactly 100 years ago The Great War (WW1) was starting its' final stage after a spring offensive that had brought them within miles of Paris the armies of Germany and Austria started to collapse and Western Allies started to sweep towards Berlin.
After 4 years of unimaginable horrors the carnage was to continue for just over another 3 months. It touched every continent and every country on the globe, it destroyed four dynastic empires; the Imperial German, Austro-Hungarian, Ottoman (Turkish) and Imperial Russian and severely wounded the colonial powers of Britain and France and it brought the USA to the centre of the world stage . it also laid the seeds of festering resentment that was to result in WW2.

No matter what part of the world you come from, or what religion or color your skin is all of our lives are somehow affected by it and many of our families would have an ancestor who fought or made arms or farmed supplies. Millions of dead and many of those far from western front caused by disease and starvation.

My grandfather fought in Arabia, Palestine and the Western Front but I only knew him as a broken man gasping in the a corner. So lets not let the madness happen again.
