I know that we've got techs from ALL OVER, and I know you guys work on stuff I'll probably never see on my own. Post it up!
For example, this is a Ford rain sensor on a '13 Expedition. Glues to the windshield, and does a pretty good job when it works correctly. I can post a waveform of this sensors signal later today, kinda crazy.
Here's a big project I finished recently - 2000 Isuzu NPR got the engine replaced. If you're thinking that looks like a Chevy V8, that's because it is!

This poor Silverado probably quit making noise right around the same time it stopped moving under it's own power...

Are you're pictures over the forum limit? I've been using a .jpg resizer to get mine under 250k.

This guy bought a wrecked Tesla for $50,000 sight unseen to fix up his other wrecked Tesla. Well, it was too far gone so he decided to donate it to charity and have it shipped to California. Only the shipping trailer isn't a tow truck, and he cant load it on. So the shipping truck follows the tow truck to the junkyard, so I can load it on with the front end loader. Surprisingly heavy car for it's size...

This 6.4L Ford came in with a bad Turbo. After I replaced it, oil was running out the tail pipe from the old turbo failure.
3rd times a charm..... Glad I wasn't the one having to keep replacing motors in this Jeep. First two motors we got were junk. Too bad we didn't find out until they were completely installed and running.

I've gotta say, it's be hard to pinpoint a failure based on the scope capture alone. was there a DTC or something to point you in the direction of the sensor? Never had to work on one of those..Tyler wrote: Following up the opening post about the rain sensor, here's some shots of the signal this thing produced.
Before, wipers inop.
After, wipers working.
Only difference I could see was in the frequency of the 'pulses'. 19 Hz before, 20-something Hz after. Never seen this kind of signal before.

WOW! That must be an awesome 98 grand cherokee to deserve all that work.3rd times a charm..... Glad I wasn't the one having to keep replacing motors in this Jeep. First two motors we got were junk. Too bad we didn't find out until they were completely installed and running.
I went through a similar experience on an 02 Mountaineer. I bet that tech could change out a 4.0 blindfolded now. Hell, he's probably been doing it in his dreams!

I wish there was a DTC for this one, no luck Actually, the real problem here was the adhesive stuff they use to stick the sensor to the windshield. It's gotta be seamless and free of any air bubbles, or the sensor gets confused. The old sensor adhesive had all kinds of bubbles in it.
Yeah, I used the scope on this, but it really wasn't required for the diagnosis. To make it even stranger, here's a shot I found of the sensor signal wire with the sensor disconnected:
I was really surprised to see that this wasn't a simple pull-down circuit

More like nightmares.
So, we had replaced the cylinder head and gasket about 6 months ago in this thing and it came in with a cracked block near the water pump from overheating.
So replacement engine #1 had a bad head gasket. Tech and Service writer had the bright idea to replace the head gasket on the replacement motor with the fairly new head off the old motor. So he pulled the head off and cylinder #1 valves were over heated so bad it would have to have extensive head work done. So SW ordered a new head. The tech got it running and was running great until he raised the engine off idle and it started making a serious lower engine knock. :S
Replacement #2 motor, installed and running great until once again engine started to make noise from the lower end.
Replacement #3 motor. This was the best but would make a little noise as well. After that we had run out of engines locally. The Jeep is gone now, customer took it and will drive it until if finally quits.

An appropriately horrific back story to go along with the picture!

Fussy customer? I mean, yeah, a dead new ANYTHING should be tight and right for the money you spend.
Did you find anything loose or missing in there?
