Silverado Injector Current was created by Hoinkis
I decided to grab a current ramp waveform on a 2018 Silverado 2500 6.0 while it was in the shop (no engine issues). I put a fused loop in at fuse 44 (INJ A). This is the fuse for injectors 1, 3, 5, 7. The resulting waveform I got confuses me. I have good looking ramps for the odd injectors as expected. I also have very high current ramps from the even injectors on this waveform, even though they shouldn't be on this fuse. I am pretty new to using lab scopes, so maybe there's a simple explanation. Anyone able to give me some insight? Attached is a Pico 6 file and a pic of the related wiring diagram.

File Name: 2018Silver...r.psdata

Edit: I'm not sure I'm linking the pico file correctly. Here is a PDF of the waveform

Hey Hoinkis! What that particular OE diagram doesn't show is that INJ A also feeds the odd numbered ignition coils. ;) Those are the high current ramps you're seeing. This diagram (Document ID #4694402) shows the relationship:

Now I’m mad I didn’t also get a secondary ignition voltage to show that. I’m kind of hoping that truck is still in the lot when I get in tomorrow. I’m still a little puzzled by it though. The order of the low vs high ramps matches up with the firing order which is why I was thinking it had something to do with the even injectors.

This is a 2009 GMC Sierra 2500 6L. First Pic is Fuse 24 and 13 all coil and injector feed with amp clamp reading and sync #1. Second pic is just fuse 24 for coil and injector feed #1,3,5,7 and #1 sync. And the last 2 pics are weird because they seem to be showing abnormalities but the vehicle is running fine. must be user error. Did you get any pics of more your 2018?

The truck was gone when I got in the next day, but I had another one in the shop yesterday. I checked it with a secondary ignition pickup on #1 plug wire and confirmed what Tyler had said. I didn’t save the waveform though

Which anomalies were you seeing in your captures?
