Is there a way to check for a Reluctor ring shift on the crank using a picoscope to verify timing vs stretched timing chains?

The only thing that might give a clue is scoping in-cylinder compression test with ignition and cam & crank. But you would need a known good.

I've often wondered this myself! :cheer: I know this issue is out there, and the only way I've heard of to verify it is to pull the pan and visually inspect the reluctor. Like Andy said, I think you'd need a known good CKP/in-cylinder waveform to prove it. Because only the reluctor has moved relative to the crank, the in-cylinder waveform itself shouldn't be affected.

I would think in cylinder pressure and ignition while cranking should be enough to see it. During cranking ignition should be close to top dead center of compression. If the reluctor has shifted it should be off enough to put the spark noticeably off.
