While TIA stands for a photo-optical device to me this looks like a simple coupling, from 4mm to 2mm banana may be??

Could you post a picture of the metalic tip, is there something to be seen that reminds a sensing element?
Being a used item how about sking the previous owner/seller for details?

Hello,

Looks to be an adapter cable to go from a 4mm socket to a 2mm plug. Just picked one for the Power Probe breakout box to allow using a multi meter to connect to the breakout box that has 2mm connections to use the tips of a probe.

aeswave sells these under the part number 08-49-42. From their description: "Converts 4mm Plug to 2mm Plug.

Use this adapter when you need to need to connect your oscilloscope’s 4mm test lead/probe to a 2mm socket"

They have a video on their site showing this and one that goes the other way

Looks like what you have
