Hi the shop where i work happened to have a picoscope and I really have an interest in learning how to use the tool correctly. Unfortunately there is no one else here that knows how to use it, so I've been trying to do some self teaching, I have gotten to a point were i have a little understanding, but no where near what this too has for potential.
A large issue i am having is finding a good resource for waveform diagrams.
Any pointers are sure appreciated.
Thank You

Thanks for joining and Welcome!

Have you tried the Pico waveform library or iATN?

The waveforms that I have found in the pico library seemed to be pretty generic.
My employer used to have a subscription with iATN before they had this scope and had a bad experience with them so He's not sure he wants to subscribe with them again.

Welcome to the forum!
Just a heads up, I moved this to the Diagnostic Techniques section.

"Ground cannot be checked with a 10mm socket"

Let us know whenever you need some waveform advice. ;) Many members here maintain personal libraries, so we can probably come up with a known good for you.

I appreciate all the help and support.
Another issue I am experiencing it when I hook up the wand, I get a +-10volt wave that doesn't go away, anyone else experience this?

You're talking about a secondary ignition paddle? Like the TA204 ?

Could you post a screenshot of what you're seeing?

that must be an updated style of the (COP) probe because it does have the same part number but yet is very different to what I have , mine has an orange handle and goes to a 45 degree point.

I am still trying to learn how to take a screen shot.

No worries! You could do what I do for waveforms and just hit Print Screen on the keyboard. Then, open Paint and hit Paste. Instant screenshot! :cheer:

Using the print screen method also makes a much better picture than saving it as a jpeg
