And, obviously, don't spread female terminals.

Seriously, though, I love this! And I recognize that meter.

I wanna do the same! What we need to know is which dipsticks correspond to which size of relay female terminals. That Chrysler trans dipstick seemed to work well for the larger blades, but what about the GM mini relays?

Lol, that's actually pretty close to the waiver I make all my customers sign before I open the hood. Probably why my only customers drive 98 SaturnsSniperDan wrote: Noah needs a formal disclaimer lol.

Where I run into problems is testing oddball japanese or euro relays, but generally they are always the large pin style so these stilts would work flawlessly for them, so long as there was room to get them in anyways

Haven't made a set for that size yet, but I've got some ideas.
The female ends are out of an under hood fuse/relay box. Maybe a Cobalt?
I know it was one of those crappy ones with the long bolts that sandwich the layers together.

I've made some like that in the past tooBen wrote: Lol I like it but I think I'll make mine with pieces of wire with terminals crimped on the end because I never have any luck on getting the smoke back in the engine computer!

Reminds me of a you tube comment I read on an evap smoke test...

That's exactly the set I'm trying to avoid having to buy! One of the guys at the shop just bought that same set with Mac Tools rebadge and paid $300!SniperDan wrote: This is the tool I usually use, and covers the smaller gm and ford relays well. www.tooldiscounter.com/ItemDisplay.cfm?l...y68J9sqccRoCP2Dw_wcB

I think I have some toggle switches I could plug into the tops instead of the relay if need be...

Bwahahahaha
I was thinking about the metal inserts in wiper blades for the smaller terminals - too flexible? Just thinking out loud.

Ooooh, smart man. Those might be just the right size. I think they would work fine given they would be pretty short, and not really put under a lot of stress.

SniperDan wrote: Im sure you could also insulate most of the exposed metal portion to eliminate short circuit risk with heatshrink, and just leave a small area uninsulated for a test location and obviously the points that connect to the relay and fuse box
I was thinking about that, I have some heat shrink tubing that's too large for most of the wire repair I do.
I also like Tyler's idea with the wiper blades, I'll try it tomorrow if I can squeeze in a break.

They were fine for the old Ford to see what was going on, but they're not practical for every day use
