A quick question about the hook up for checking voltage on fuel injector circuit. Does the solus require a step down for measuring the voltage spikes. Will it hurt the scope if not using one?

Were you thinking of a Modis, instead of a Solus?
The short answer is no, it won't hurt it. The maximum voltage scale available is 200V, which should cover most injectors you're gonna look at.
Long answer is that the Modis case is labeled like this:
This means that some injectors and ignition coils will exceed this rating. However, I've hooked up to MANY injectors and ignition coils that went way over this number, and never hurt a thing. Most other Snap-On users I've known do the same, including Paul.
Maybe we just like to live dangerously? :silly: I honestly think Snap-On knows their scopes will get hooked up to stuff like that, but puts that rating on there for CYA.

I agree with Tyler, I've never hurt my Verus scope measuring injector or coil controls.
