Hi guys had a good one the other day. Had a Renault traffic with low boost pressure. Fault code just confirmed what I could already feel, low boost pressure. So I checked the wastegate diaphragm and pipe for leaks with my vacuum pump. No fault found. so I then checked the vacuum supply and it was very low. I traced it all the way back to vacuum pump. The one way valve was mounted directly at the pump and with the engine off the system held vacuum so it couldnt be a vacuum leak. So it had to be the pump not producing enough vacuum to pull the turbo wastegate fully shut so the turbo could build up pressure. Here is a short video to show you
.A new vacuum pump did fix it and we also did an oil change as the oil was very contaminated and was probably the original cause of the proplem. Everything was fine after the parts were replaced
