Just purchased a Modis 14.4 from ebay. My concern is can I use Shop stream without a subscription? Will it brick my Modis?

You can use shop stream without a subscription. What do you mean by brick? Did you mean break?

You should be fine. I never had a problem with my older Modis using the latest (at the time) Shopstream program on my laptop.

I've never used a modis but I think there may be crossed wires here. Iirc the early modis got to a point where it could no longer store updates and so has become obsolete to a point. Still good as a scope and an older scanner.
Shop stream is simply a software program on your pc that transfers data from the scan tool to your pc for saving or printing etc. I can't see shopstream harming anything.
Just a theory.

Yeah, this does happen. Twice to me. :lol: I just don't update my Modis via ShopStream any more. Make the Snap-On guy do it for me.

You can still use ShopStream and connect your Modis to a PC, subscription or no. :cheer:
