This fuse socket  original function is to add an extra fuse circuit. If you put a fuse buddy into the slot of the original circuit and any fuse into the second slot you will be able to read amperage and voltage simultaneously, just as the fuse extension leads sold as pico accesories will. A kit of 12 units  -3  ATM, 3 APS,3 APR,3 APT - is about 11 USD.

I understand now! At first I was thinking with two fuses you would divide the current path, but the second fuse is just going to your meter.
That's a good use for those cheap little things.
