Ac machine was created by Ben
I'm looking at adding an AC machine but I don't want to invest that much money in a problem machine I've spoke to other shop owners and seen used machines listed with bad main boards or bad compressors and I don't want a machine that I have to invest a bunch of money in every year come ac season. Any suggestions on problem free machines or machines to avoid?

We have the 34288 (not NI) for many years and have never had an issue works great . Not sure if the NI is just the newer version. Hope this helps

Anyone used the mastercool COMM1000? It has a 3cfm vacuum pump up from the 1.5 of the robinair 34288NI?

Pump cfm doesn't really matter on automotive AC systems. They're not high enough volume for it to make any noticeable difference in pull down time. It's not something I'd consider when comparing AC machines.

Makes sense there's not many cubic feet in an automotive AC system

It's not even one cubic foot. A cubic foot is 7 1/2 gallons.

Ended up ordering the 34788NI got a heck of a deal on it through Napa (less than you can buy the 34288NI for online) they also offered an excellent price on the 34288NI but I decided I wanted the oil injection, the option to flush and the automatic mode was just bonus
