I've searched the forums for hours and can't find any major pros and cons on either device... The Launch comes in at almost $500 less than the Autel on Amazon (Canada) but I'm wondering - are there any major differences in functionalities on domestic vehicles between these two devices? I find the marketing on these tools to be very different from seller to seller which makes it hard to determine what they can ACTUALLY do PROPERLY vs what the sellers say they can do.
My shop does a lot of custom work and engine swaps on diesels, usually Cummins, so injector testing, actuator testing, re-writing VINs, re-keying etc is pretty common for us. Graphing on Cummins and Duramax engines 2005+ is also a necessity as well as dealing with DPF systems.
Has anyone here used either of these tools for these jobs, and if so what was your experience? Would be nice if someone here has used both and has some insight on the pros and cons of each?
