Need to view ABS functionality on 2005 Sequoia..do I have to use the OBD cable with the K-2A personality card or can I use one of the newer cables for latter model modis?

I guess that depends on the tool?
If it has keys and asks for specific keys when identifying the vehicle, then you need the correct key.
My old modis and Verus needed keys, my new(ish) Verus does not.

Are you having issues connecting to the ABS module?
I've run into Asian vehicles that just will not support scan tool communication with ABS, but most have been older than your 05 Toyota.
